Countering climate change in agriculture: SOLMACC newsletter #5
The SOLMACC project’s fifth newsletter has been released. In this newsletter you'll learn more about:
- Agroforestry, one of the project's climate-friendly practices that is being applied by the participating farmers
- The Commission's forthcoming Effort Sharing Decision (ESD) proposal on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction
- The French government's "4 per 1000" research initiative on soil carbon sequestration
- An Open Field Day at SOLMACC demonstration farm Gut Krauscha, Germany
The SOLMACC project aims to demonstrate that farming can be climate-friendly when applying optimised farming practices.
The project is coordinated by IFOAM EU in collaboration with Ekologiska Lantbrukarna (Sweden), the Italian Association of Organic Agriculture (AIAB,), the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Germany) and Bioland Beratung GmbH (Germany).
SOLMACC is a LIFE-co-funded project.
