Brexit helpline for organic farmers
Soil Association has launched a Brexit readiness support service to help organic farmers and growers prepare for new condiotions when UK leaves EU. The activities of farmers buying or selling items directly from individuals or companies in the EU - seeds or plants, animals, crops, feed, fertilisers and/or other inputs - will be regarded as import and/or export after the UK’s exit of the EU takes place. Moreover, UK organic producers would not be able to sell their products into the EU after a ‘no deal’ Brexit without certification from an EU-27 certification body.
There is a Brexit support page, which aims to answer questions and provide information to the sector
The service is open to all organic businesses in the UK, which are certified by Soil Association Certification.
