There is currently two open positions at IFOAM EU:

Policy Officer in the field of GMOs, patents and seeds

Do you have knowledge about EU institutions and legislative processes? Do you want to work in the sector of GMOs, patents and seeds? Apply to our position as Policy Officer to join our team.

Function:
• Coordination of an IFOAM EU policy project in the field of GMO-free food and farming
• Coordination of IFOAM EU advocacy work related to seeds
• Communication and external relations
• Monitoring and advocacy in the field of GMO, patents and seeds

Qualifications & experiences:
• Master’s degree related to political sciences, agriculture, environment
• At least 2-3 years’ experience in the - food and farming sector or in an NGO in the area of food/agriculture/environment and/or EU institutions
•  Knowledge about EU institutions and EU legislative processes
• Experience on EU level on policy work or at national level related to GMOs (desirable)

Knowledge and skills:
• Good organisational/coordinating skills
• Good minute writing skills
• Empathy with the aims and objectives of the IFOAM EU Group
• Willingness to travel within Europe

What we offer:
• Full time position
• Monday to Friday, 38 hours/week
• Salary between 33.500,00€ and 38.760,00€ gross yearly (including holidays payment) depending on qualifications and experience

Policy Officer on agriculture and Common Agriculture Policy (CAP)

If you have good understanding of EU agricultural policies and good knowledge of EU institutions, apply now for this position. We are currently looking for a talented person to join the team.

Qualifications and Experience
• Higher level education or equivalent
• At least two/three years of relevant work experience


Knowledge and skills
• Good knowledge of the EU agricultural and relevant environmental policies in particular of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)
• Knowledge of EU institutions and of the EU legislative process
• Excellent communication skills in English including verbal, written and presentation skills
• Ability to research and understand complex policy topics and to translate them into effective advocacy messages that non-experts can understand
• High attention to detail & good organisational skills
• Understanding of and empathy with the aims and objectives of organic farming and IFOAM EU
